Paula Clayton: Chicago-based artist.
Painting, for me, has always been part of staying vaguely sane.
I was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand. I have been in the United States for the majority of the last 20 years during which I have studied and worked as a mural painter and decorative artist.
I went back to New Zealand for about 3 years starting in 2011 to care for my mother. While I was at home with Mum, I found myself painting, because, well, that’s what I do. I had a ball over those 3 years painting whatever the heck I felt like. Several of the series in this shop grew from that period in my life, beginning with the power poles, moving on to Karate Mermaids, and then landscapes. With occasional segues into whatever else appealed.
In 2014, I returned to the United States and worked as a Pharmacy Technician. But... ehhh, I wanted more.
Since 2015 I am no longer a Pharmacy Tech - I am back to being a Fine Artist, with interesting forays back to the world of murals.

Now I am zooming around in Fine Art mode
making great messes in our basement studio
and having a blast with the possibilities
& paint. This is it!
Wild arty possibilities and collaborations, explorations, adventure.
